New Ford Mondeo

New Ford Mondeo

New Shape Ford Mondeo is proving very popular. The Ford Mondeo, which hit UKshowrooms in October 2010. Among the changes are styling tweaks, an upgraded interior and more efficient petrol EcoBoost and TDCi dieselengines. Following similar updates to the Ford S-MAX and Galaxy earlier in 2010, the Mondeo is the latest model to benefit from the evolution of theFord trademark 'kinetic' design.

The most notable changes on the outside include distinctive new grilles, changes to the bonnet and new front bumpers which incorporate LED daytime running lights. At the back the new ford Mondeo gets refreshed rear lights which also use LEDs for a modern appearance.

Inside there is a redesigned centre console design, flush and integrated door handles, plus a new central overhead console with ambient lighting. Ford has also upgraded the trim materials to enhance the feel of the cabin.Optional extras now include a new satellite navigation system and a premium sound system which incorporates a subwoofer.

Ford describes this New Car, the New Mondeo as the smartest, safest, most environmentally friendly and best quality model ever, so it's no surprise there are big changes under the bonnet too. There's a new high performance 240bhp version of the 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine alongside the existing 203bhp version, but despite the increase in power, CO2 emissons remain at 179g/km.

The revised 2.2-litre TDCi engine also makes its debut in the New Ford Mondeo. This has power increased to 200bhp making it the most powerful Duratorq TDCi engine yet. The 2.0 TDCi with 115bhp, 140bhp or 163bhp continues as before.

To improve efficiency there are several new Ford ECOnetic Technologies, including Smart Regenerative Charging, Ford Eco Mode and - a Ford first - an Active Grille Shutter system. This regulates the airflow through the radiator and engine bay to reduce drag, but also helps engine heating to improve fuel economy and warm-up performance in cold weather.

The new ford Mondeo will include a range of 'driver assistance' features, many of which are appearing for the first time in a Ford, including Lane Departure Warning, Driver Alert and Auto High Beam. Contact www.ukcarbroker.co.uk for more details and see the savings you are making.

New Hyundai ix35

Most Searched New Cars, The New Hyundai ix35, its new ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language, New Hyundai ix35 is being pitched as a stylish and spacious C-segment alternative to other new cars such as the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus, as well as larger rivals such as the New Nissan Qashqai.

The European-spec ix35 has different styling to the Korean model. Changes include new front fog lights, more dramatic headlights and higher levels of chrome detailing. LED lights are also expected to feature on the rear.

The New Hyundai ix35 offers a glimpse of the styling of future Hyundai models, too. The hexagonal grille and more striking front end will be used on future models and will form part of the firm’s new design language.

Hyundai has described the car as having “markedly better fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions than rival SUVs” and it will “compete head on in terms of running costs with mainstream hatchbacks”.

The European ix35 has been conceived and engineered in Europe at the company’s Frankfurt design and technical centre. It will be offered in both front and four wheel drive, but Hyundai expects around 95 per cent of sales to be front wheel drive.

A source said it will come with higher levels of equipment and a more affordable price than key
rivals. “We’ll be pricing it at much less than the Ford Kuga and want to offer lots of equipment to
tempt people away from buying a Nissan Qashqai,” said the source.

“The New Hyundai ix35 will have similar emissions and running costs to rivals like the Focus, but we think people will opt for an ix35 because they’re getting more equipment and interior space than our rivals.”

The Hyundai ix-onic showcased a new 1.6-litre turbocharged direct-injection 168bhp petrol unit that's capable of a tax-friendly 149g/km of CO2 emissions, and a naturally-aspirated version of that engine is likely to make the production car. A new “low emissions, high-powered” 2.0-litre diesel engine will also be available.

The European version will be built at Kia’s Slovakia plant in Zilina. It will share its platform with
the new Kia Sportage, which is also expected to go on-sale next year, but the two cars are expected to have remarkably different charcteristics.

New Car Sales Drops

New Cars sales recorded their first fall in 12 months in July. New Car Sales fell in July, the first drop in a year, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has said.

New car registrations were 136,446 last month, down 13.2% from a year ago, the trade body said, with the end of the New cars scrappage scheme and the fragility in the economy blamed.

However, so far this year, new car sales remain 15% higher on the same period last year.

The SMMT said it expected more than two million new cars to be sold in 2010.

Paul Everitt, the SMMT's chief executive, said July's fall was not a surprise.

"A drop in private registrations compared to the scrappage-fuelled months of 2009 was expected," he said.

"Subdued consumer confidence and a still-fragile economic recovery make the outlook for the remainder of 2010 challenging,

but a stronger-than-expected first half means full year volumes are still forecast to exceed 2009's total."

The figures also showed that diesel car sales overtook petrol car sales for the first time in July, accounting for 50.6% of the total.

Last year, just under two million new cars were sold in the UK, with the New car scrappage scheme significantly boosting New Car Sales sales following its introduction in May.

The scheme came to an end in March this year, and helped to sell at least 330,000 New cars.

The SMMT said the outlook for the New car industry in 2010 remained "difficult to predict".

Recent falls in consumer confidence could see New car sales decline further throughout the year, according to Howard Archer, chief UK economist at IHS Global Insight.

"The more worried that consumers are, the less likely they will be prepared to splash out on as big-ticket an item as a New car," he said.

"The substantial fiscal squeeze will increasingly hit public sector jobs and consumers' pockets, while households already face high unemployment, muted earnings growth, elevated debt levels and high fuel prices."

But he added that 2010 New Car Sales could be helped by the planned rise in VAT, due to come into force in January 2011.

This could see consumers bring their New car purchases forward to beat the rise.

Industry analysts JD Power said the UK market was not the only one feeling the loss of government scrappage schemes.

Across Western Europe, New Car Sales fell 18.5% in July compared with the same month a year earlier.

Europe's biggest New car market, Germany, experienced one of the biggest falls. It sold 100,000 fewer New cars last month, a drop of 30.1%.

Only Greece saw a bigger percentage drop - down 62.5% - but its New car industry is much smaller.

Amongst the other big producers, Italy experienced a drop of 26.4%, while France saw a fall of 12.9%.
